Judy's Work Gets Published

So guess who is one of the top ten wedding photographers in New England (at least according to this article)? Its Judy! I submitted several weddings images that I shot along with this one that Judy shot for consideration in Gala Weddings, and voila - they loved this photo. It is a pretty great shot. Happy to be married to such an excellent photographer. If you want to check out the little article they put together about the shot you can click here for a better view.

Ksusha & Mike's Wedding - Indian Pond Country Club, Kingston, Massachusetts

This was an amazing Russian wedding we shot full of so much vibrance and activity (and we got to ride in golf carts out to the site for portraits - so much fun). There were toasts from almost everyone in attendance, a great musical performance from the groom and his buddies just for his bride, and a bunch of other craziness involving wild dancing, blindfolds, and a lot of vodka. It was quite the event - enjoy.

Olga & Matt's Wedding - Stowe, Vermont

We were lucky enough to work this lovely mid-summer wedding at the beautiful Trapp Family Lodge up in Vermont. Had wonderful weather for the ceremony and then, while under the tent for the first dance, the rains came. But the sun was still out - and that meant a rainbow came out for a sweet display. Perfect for a wedding day. Enjoy the pictures.

Dani & Steve's Wedding - Cape Cod, Massachusetts

Got a little behind here in the posting of summer weddings, but I got a bunch to bring your way in the coming weeks. We shot this wedding mid-summer in Orleans out on the Cape. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny day and the ceremony was held right outside on a lovely, private beach. Truly an amazing spot. First time I've shot a wedding that close to the water, with the tide coming our way - can't way to do another one. Check out the slideshow:

Cranberry Festival

So Judy and I trekked down to Wareham (which we discovered is the gateway to Cape Cod) for the annual cranberry festival held on the property of the AD Makepeace company back on Columbus Day weekend. Just 2 bucks to get in and easily the best 2 bucks I've spent in a while. Aside from activities and vendors and the usual festival happenings, they bussed you out to a working bog and just let you hang out for as long as you wanted while the harvest was taking place. Got an upclose look at the whole process - so cool. A couple of photos:

Also had a birds of prey exhibit going on and I couldn't help but grab a few shots:

Brides Magazine & WPJA Photo Contest Winner

There I am scrolling through an email about the 2009 Brides Magazine and Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) Photo Content Winners and whose name do I come across, but my own. Photo contests are a great way to keep me motivated and give myself challenges to expand my horizons in photography. While a slightly indirect way to find out I'd placed 6th in the ceremony category, I was happy to receive the recognition, nonetheless.

Leigh & John's Wedding - Harrington Farm, Princeton, Massachusetts

This is the first of my new-style wedding posts, as I now have the ability to create slideshows with the images I've captured during a particular event. I've loved this idea for a long time as it allows me to more easily showcase a greater amount of images and give folks the feel for the entire wedding. And its set to music, which is cool (although if you're at work you may want to turn down the volume). Hope you like it.

Molika & Yannick's Wedding Part II - Hyatt Harborside, Boston

Here are some images from day 2 of Molika and Yannick's beautiful wedding weekend. Right on the water outside of the Hyatt Harborside with Boston as a backdrop - we were even lucky enough to have the sun pop out for just a few minutes right in the middle of the ceremony while they were exchanging their vows. It was pretty amazing timing. And then the partying began.

Whale Watch

Judy and I trekked up to Gloucester early on Labor Day (and actually the day before as well, but choppy seas cancelled our first attempt) to head out on a whale watch. And it was an amazing trip - little wind, few waves, crystal clear water, and lots of whales. They may be huge, but they seemed to just mind their own business even when they were literally feet from our boat. Glad we got out there and we'll have to do it again next summer.
